Beat Discouragement
“Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted
within
me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my
God.”
Psalm 43:5

Believe the promises of God -
“…he has granted to us his precious and very great promises:
that through
these you become partakers of the divine nature…” 2 Peter 1:4

When discouraged Christians are tempted to doubt the Scriptures.

The Word assures us that the promises will bring hope – Romans
8:28.

Beat discouragement by believing God’s Word –
we must read it, claim
it,
meditate on it, apply it, and memorize it.

Expect the presence of God –
“I will never leave you, nor forsake you…the Lord is my helper”
Hebrews 13:5-6

When discouraged Christians are tempted to doubt God’s
salvation.
*
We must depend on
FAITH not FEELINGS.
*
Beat discouragement by expecting God’s presence –
you are not alone!

Accept the peace of God –
“And the peace of God, which
passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds
through Christ
Jesus”
Philippians 4:7

When discouraged its easy not accept the peace God offers and
hold on to
negative attitudes.
*
We need to
look for the good things in life, not the bad; not what is lost
but what
is left.
*
Beat discouragement by simply accepting His peace – John 14:27.

Triumph with praise to God –
“Hope in God: for I shall
again
praise him”
Psalm 43:5
*
When discouraged we often mope in self-pity.
*
Praise enables us to beat discouragement by focusingon the Lord
rather than
ourselves.
*
Praising God
gives us a new perspective – Psalm 71:14.
