Making the Right Decisions!

Sometimes you may feel that you’ve got to make life’s choices all on your own. But the Lord has promised to give every believer understanding and guidance. Here are some steps you can follow to be sure you have included the Lord in ALL your decisions.

 

ASK FOR GOD’S LEADING

 

• Decisions are made confidently when God is invited into the process.
• Read: Matthew 7:7
• The Lord expects you to come to Him.
• God leads you as you are willing to go His ways, obey His will, and apply His Word to your life.
• So when you are faced with an important decision, pray about it and expect an answer.

 

ANTICIPATE GOD’S LEADING

 

• Read: John 16:13
• God wants you to:
• Believe that He is trustworthy.
• Place your confidence in His Word.
• Acknowledge His authority in all matters of faith and practice.
• Let the Holy Spirit direct you through the Scriptures.

 

MEDITATE ON GOD’S LEADING

 

• Read: Psalm 25:9
• When faced with a tough decision turn to the Bible passages that apply.
• God will never lead you to do anything contrary to His Word.
• Read and reflect – let God have a chance to speak to you.
• Often the Lord will direct you to another believer who is mature for help.

 

ACT ON GOD’S LEADING

 

• Read: Psalm 25:10
• When the direction or answer seems clear move ahead with confidence.
• To delay can allow indecision and anxiety in and cause doubts.
• Faith is always part of God’s leading – the part you must apply.

The Lord has a purpose for your life, and being a Christian, you must

strive to fulfill that purpose.
