“[God] will . . . make a way” - Isaiah 43:19
Fireworks
explode over the field at the new “Dawg Pound” digs, Cleveland
Browns Stadium, during pregame ceremonies for the season opener
against arch-rival Pittsburgh Steelers. Browns players swarm
onto the field, cheered on by 73,000 fans for the first time
after a three-year hiatus caused by former owner Art Modell
announcing in November 1995 that he was moving his team to
Baltimore. This was a dream come true for the city of Cleveland
and Brown fans. It is a bigger victory than any the team will
achieve this season.
Hall of
Famer Lou “The Toe” Groza said, “I think the whole community has
been uplifted. They’ve been very ready.” In spite of an
embarrassing loss to their rivals (43-0) it won’t break the
spirit of the Dawg’s. They’ve been through much worse – now
their dream is a reality!
Have you
been dreaming a dream for a long time? Do you feel like giving
up? You’re down and don’t want to try anymore. Now is the time .
. . to rise up, trust and obey God, and go for it again and
again, your dream will become a reality. Listen to the “barking”
in Cleveland and remember don’t give up on your dream.
- Has
God fulfilled a dream or desire you’ve had in the past?
- What
was the hardest part – patience while waiting or keep
trusting and not doubting?
-
What’s one thing you can do to keep from giving up?
“Lord, help me keep
my faith focused on You. In Your name, Amen.”
