FORGIVENESS NOW!
“I will confess my transgressions to the
Lord” - and You forgave the guilt of my sin” - Psalm 32:5
The famous
baseball manger, Connie Mack, said once, “I’ve seen boys on my
baseball team go into a slump and never come out of it, and I’ve
seen others snap right out and come back better than ever. I
guess more players lick themselves than are ever licked by an
opposing team. The first thing any man has to know is how to
handle himself.”
Having
struggled with my own past sins, I believe that part of the
problem is that I defeat myself by looking back, and that’s put
me on the sidelines. For some reason this seems easier than
facing life head-on.
But the
Lord is the God of the “present” the here-and-now and
He’s provided a way so that every sin can be dealt with
once-and-for-all. He offers complete forgiveness, right
now, on the basis of Christ’s blood-sacrifice on the cross.
So, if
you’re like me, defeated by sins of the past by looking back . .
. let’s receive God’s loving forgiveness NOW! Claim Psalm
32:5.
- Is
there a “sin”(s) from your past that keeps you distracted
and defeated?
- What
hope does Psalm 32:5 give you?
- Does
it (vs. 5) help you to focus on what Christ has done for
you?
“Lord, I
pray that You will forgive me of my past sins, once-and-for-all,
that from this day forward I will walk in Your forgiveness and
freedom through the blood of Jesus. Thank You for Your wonderful
grace and love, in Jesus name, Amen.”
