I BELIEVE
GOD!
God can
give you the promise of victory, but it doesn’t mean you will
not face the storm. Faith in God’s Word is your security in
times of trouble.
Remember
Paul? He was a prisoner on a ship that ran into a storm so
terrifying that even the crew gave up hope of survival. After a
night of prayer, Paul told the
frightened
men, "There stood by me this night the Angel of God . . .
saying, ‘Fear not, Paul . . . God has given you all them that
sail with you.’ Therefore, be of good cheer: for I BELIEVE GOD”
(Acts 27:23-25).
The storm
didn’t stop when Paul heard from the Lord. It got worse. For
many more days the ship was beaten by the waves. Still, Paul
said, “I believe God!” The ship was smashed on the rocks and the
crew had to swim for their lives, but Paul proclaimed, “I
believe God!” and as God had promised, every man was saved.
You can
trust God’s promises as literally as Paul did. The storm you are
in may not stop immediately, but deep within you can have an
inner calm when you believe what the Lord said, “I am with you
always” (Matthew 27:20). You may have to hit the water and swim,
but the Lord won’t let you go under!
